RENAULT TWIZY PHOTOGRAPHY NEW FOREST FOR FLEET WORLD MAGAZINE

18/02/2013
I had driven a Twizy very briefly when it came out so the chance to drive one of the cars to the shoot location in the heart of the Forest was a great opportunity to test out the funky and nimble car. The car is great fun and reminds me of being in a go kart, only strange thing is the lack of engine noise, after a while you get used to it though and driving through the beautiful New Forest in a silent car seemed very respectful of the countryside.

The photographs were for Fleet World Magazine and had to show a range of cars in the countryside, linking in with the environmental aspect as well as the initiative that had been linked in with local tourism of being able to hire these cars for visitors from only £40 a day and an option to hiring a bike, I can confirm it takes a hefty Billingham camera bag with kit on the back seat. The photos were predominately landscape which will be used for a double page spread with a few in portrait as well, just as an option for the magazine. I covered a mix of different backdrops and the cars looked at home in their green surroundings, 24-70mm lens gave me enough widths for all of the photos without distorting the vehicles too much at the 24mm end. I also used a standing viewpoint to get the background and horses in rather then my usual low down stance, alos single speed light was used to fill in some of the shadow areas due to the mid afternoon sun.
