FERRARI F12 LAUNCH PHOTOGRAPHY HR OWEN ATELIER LONDON
06/03/2013
I first saw the car at the Geneva motor show last year and it looks even more stunning close up, 0-60 is 3.4 seconds and with prices starting from £240,000 it really is super car royalty. My brief for the evening was to capture the event in full flow with customers talking to staff, showroom photos interior and exterior plus some general wider shots of the car and customers. An added bonus was a white 458 outside the showroom which a customer had conveniently parked up, tripod long exposure and some great traffic trails provided a stunning shot.
I captured most of the photos with the 50mm 1.2 and the 24-70mm which with the new 600 speed light gave a great mix of well lit images. The 600 seems to work far better then the 580's in terms of creating natural tones and much warmer images which you don't get with on camera flash, I always use full manual when using flash and at 1/60th @ 2.8 ISO 1000 the mix of wide and cropped images were perfectly exposed every time. I often try to avoid using on camera flash bit with the current results can't wait to use it again, also recycling times seemed extremely quick as well.
