LONDON TO BRIGHTON CLASSIC AND SPORTS CAR PHOTOGRAPHY
02/06/2013
The race was started by everyones ultimate racing hero, none other then the Stig, with 180 classics and then 80 modern sports cars and kit cars the mix was even more varied then last year. E Types, AC Cobras, Lambroghinis and some wierd and fun looking kit cars were waved off on their way down to Brighton. The photographs will be set up on the GE Classics website for the owners to purchase. With three photographers set up in different positions covering the two starts, my brief was to capture the Stig as he sent off the kit and sports cars drivers, as well as capturing the classic.
I used the 24-70mm lens along with a 600 Speedlite on camera, in full manual mode I underexposed the settings which made the flash push in some much needed fill in light, especially with the darker coloured cars against the white of Concorde. The day finished off with some photos of the Stig against some of the iconic backdrops at Brooklands. Again fill in flash underexposed to bring in the detail of the sky.
