SHEPHERD NEAME WHITSTABLE BAY PHOTOGRAPHY KENT
26/07/2013
The brief today was for a range of lifestyle photographs of the models enjoying the Whitstable Bay products with the beach and sea as the backdrop. The photos also had to be taken and processed in the style of an Instagram/Fat Face vibe, with this in mind I used the 7-200mm lens as I wanted to create a shallow depth of field at distance and with an aperture of F4 this worked extremely well, all photos were deliberately over exposed by 1 stop and then processed through the brilliant Phototools plug in software that works in Adobe CS6 seamlessly.
The afternoon was mainly based on product photography, on the beach and inside the Old Neptune, with the sun shining down on the product and the tide coming in it created some atmospheric images.
The new range of Whitstable Bay is under the Faversham Steam Brewery which was originally adopted in the late 18th Century by the brewer. With this in mind it was important to show the new branding in all of the shots, even if subtly from a distance. I also had to take a variety of images wide at the 70mm aspect of the lens as these would be cropped for social media.
