INTERIOR & EXTERIOR PROPERTY PHOTOGRAPHY SANDWICH KENT
09/01/2013
The weather was not ideal for exterior photographs as it was drizzly but was ideal for the interior images, no harsh sunlight to contend with coming through the windows. With the full frame Canon 5D MK3, 17-40mm and 24-70mm lenses at hand it was a case of utilising various angles to show this beautiful 18th Century home in all its glory. I did cover some exterior photos but will be making a return visit later on when the garden is in full bloom.
The photographs were all taken with natural light, predominantly at an aperture of F14 with over exposure between 1/3 to a full stop, camera was in full manual mode and ISO at 100 to get the very best quality available. Exposures ranged from a second up to 20 seconds in the darker rooms. The trick when using a wide lens like the 17mm is to use a lower down angle, this way you achieve the best angle to show the room as well as maintaining composition and straight lines in the background, the lower viewpoint also draws you in to the photograph. I ended the session with some general abstract filler images which ca be used for the promotional materials.
