THE LITTLE SUGAR BOX FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY KENT

The cakes that Alison makes are stunning in design and all of the accessories on the cakes are hand made, this gave the detail shots more importance to show the flowers, ribbons etc in great detail. With the garden of her home as a backdrop and the wooden oak table as the base I set the camera up on the tripod and took all of the wedding cake photographs with the 100mm 2.8 macro lens, great for full length photos and also for the close up details.
Shooting primarily white products I set the camera at ISO 100, 5.6 aperture and over exposed by 1 stop, this gave a clean and fresh look to the cakes, something which had been part of the brief, the pinks and green which were in the background would also compliment the website and stationary as well.
